Dorothy Moses Parent Teacher Organization
Dorothy Moses PTO is a group of parents and teachers who meet to discuss what is happening at our school and how we can help - such as volunteering, fundraising and offering ideas on ways to provide a better environment for our children's education.
The purpose of the PTO is to aid the students of Dorothy Moses Elementary School by providing support for their educational and recreational needs and to promote open communication between the administration, teachers and parents by encouraging involvement in the school.
Below is a list of things that can be done by parents and teachers to support Dorothy Moses Elementary School and the PTO:
- Sign up to volunteer for one or several activities throughout the school year.
- Attend monthly PTO meetings - meetings are generally held the first Monday of each month at 5:45 in the teachers lounge (see listing of meeting dates). All parents and teachers are welcome to attend.
- Read the Moses Messenger for a list of upcoming school events.
- Support the various fundraisers throughout the school year. Money raised goes toward purchasing supplies for the classroom, purchasing playground equipment, and funding PTO sponsored activities such as Family Fun Night, Grandparents Day, Movie Night, Pastries for Parents, Spring Fling and the 6th Grade Farewell.
- Collect Box Tops for Education (collection box located near display case by the front door).
- Recycle printer cartridges (collection box located near display case by the front door).
- When shopping at Target with your Target credit card, list Dorothy Moses as the school you would like your "Target-Take Charge of Education Dollars" donated to.
- Purchase Dorothy Moses clothing - samples of clothing are displayed by the front entrance of the school and orders are taken in the fall and spring (forms will be sent home with students).
- Attend PTO sponsored activities and encourage others to attend.
Participating in PTO is a great way for parents to become more involved with the school and get to know other Moses families.
PTO meets the 1st Monday of each month (except December and July) @ 5:45pm, in the staff room. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
